The Sendai Tourism, Convention and International Association (SenTIA) is recruiting foreign residents to participate in disaster prevention training. There will be two sessions held - the first at Katahira on October 21 and the second at Sanjo on October 28.
The programme will include practising first aid, riding the earthquake simulator, walking through a smoke-filled room, using a fire extinguisher and learning how to prepare basic emergency food.
Participation is free and registration is not needed.
Interpreters will be on hand for those who need language support.
