The Department of Mechanical Systems Engineering invites applications for a tenured Professor level position. The successful applicant will join the Functional Systems Engineering Group. Special preference will be given to applicants who have a strong background in mechanical engineering, and a deep interest in exploring and developing cutting-edge research in the field of mechanical mechanics and mechanical design.

The Department of Mechanical Systems Engineering puts an emphasis on creating exciting new fields by fusing compatible areas together, allowing for unique collaborations. For example, this division is currently active in Tribology and Nanointerface Engineering, and Micro-Nanomechanical Architectonics. The successful candidate is expected to set up innovative research projects by himself/herself or in collaboration with other researchers in the Division of Mechanical Engineering.

The successful applicant will become a Japanese National University Corporation employee and will be paid accordingly.
