Recruitment Notice: Specially Appointed Research Fellow

The Astronomical Institute at Tohoku University is recruiting a specially appointed fellow. This research is funded by JSPS Kakenhi (Specially Promoted Science) under the project title "Towards Ultimate Subaru: Galaxy formation history probed by deep near-infrared imaging with wide-field adaptive optics." This project focuses on the formation and evolution of distant galaxies, clusters, and large-scale structures based on various observational data. Those with research experience related to this topic are highly encouraged to apply.

Position: Specially Appointed Research Fellow

Qualifications:

- A doctoral degree (Ph.D.) in a relevant field by the time of appointment

- Experience in processing and analyzing data from imaging/spectroscopic data at the NIR/optical wavelength

Number of positions: 1
Job type: Non tenure-track faculty, full-time (fixed term employee)
Starting date: April 1, 2025 (a later date is negotiable)
