Tohoku University will hold its fourth annual International Awards ceremony this October, and nominations are now open for candidates who have made significant contributions to the university's international profile.

Established in 2022 as part of the university's 115th anniversary celebrations, the International Awards shine a spotlight on the achievements of alumni members as well as individuals with a strong connection to the university whose work has enhanced Tohoku University's global presence.

The awards also recognize groups whose activities foster solidarity and community among the university's worldwide network of graduates and partners.

The selection committee is now accepting external nominations for deserving candidates for this year's awards.

The committee will announce its decisions in July via the Alumni Network platform. And all winners will be invited to receive their award in person at a ceremony on Homecoming Day in October. Travel expenses will be fully covered.
